One of the exhibits recently submitted by the plaintiffs at the recent show cause hearing, Exhibit 18, discusses in part the directors of C01N Ltd. This is a company that by all appearances was not bought by Craig until 2014, even although it was listed as a trustee of Tulip Trust I, which was allegedly set up in 2012.

The emails are allegedly between Craig Wright and someone called Robert MacGregor, in April 2016. However, the information in the emails (relating to C01N Ltd) are at odds with the official company information on Companies House.

The email from Robert to Craig states (in part) the following:

• There were seven trustees:
  • C1ON Ltd. [sic] (formerly Moving Forward In Business Ltd., and prior to that formerly Design By Human Ltd.). There are six directors currently registered with this company: CW, Uyen, Panopticrypt, CFS Secretaries Ltd., David K, and Brian Anthony Thornton. CFS is, I presume, a corporate services provider, but who is Brian Thornton?

Craig then responds with this in his reply:

Brian T. was a person used by CFS. He has no involvement now. CFS are hopeless and we do not have them doing anything. They
failed to do anything when we paid them. Basically they still have not updated records even now.

Since Craig is claiming to have controlled this company since 2012, when Tulip Trust I was formed, this would appear to be his way of spinning the fact that he was not listed as a director until 2014. Because "CFS are hopeless" and "have not updated records even now".

However, even if Craig's comments about CFS were accurate, which I don't believe they are, this still does not match up with the information registered with Companies House. Here is a timeline of the filings, which anyone can see here:

October 14th 2012	CFS resigns as company secretary
January 7th 2014	Company changes name to C01N Ltd. Both CFS and Bryan Thornton resign as directors. Craig Wright is appointed both secretary and director
February 22nd 2014	Panopticrypt Pty Ltd appointed as a director. This appointment is backdated to January 1st 2013
April 10th 2014	Uyen Nguyen appointed as a director. This appointment is backdated to October 12th 2012
April 14th 2014	Dave Kleiman appointed as a director, even though he is dead. This appointment is backdated to October 14th 2012
April 15th 2014	Termination of Dave Kleiman as director. This termination is backdated to April 26th 2013, the date of his death

These are the records up until April 2016, which is the date on the email in Exhibit 18. So we can clearly see that there are only three directors appointed at that time: Craig, Uyen and Panopticrypt. It is also clear that the following people were not directors at that time: Dave Kleiman, CFS Secretaries and Bryan Thornton.

Craig says:

CFS are hopeless and we do not have them doing anything. They failed to do anything when we paid them.
Basically they still have not updated records even now.

This is because CFS are just a company formations business who sell you a company then have nothing more to do with it. They sold this company to Craig in January 2014, after which point they were no longer involved. They resigned as director and secretary in January 2014. Saying "they have not updated records even now" in 2016 is ludicrous. They are long gone. This is a disingenious attempt to cover up the fact that Craig had no involvement with C01N Ltd until 2014, even though it was allegedly a trustee of Tulip Trust I in 2012.
